Office Ergonomics

ErgoRisk offers several services to help optimize workstation set-up and ensure workers use their workstation properly. Some of these services include education (individual coaching or Lunch and Learn presentations), discomfort management, return to work facilitation, assessment of current risk, prioritization of recommendations and ongoing employee/workstation services for employee transfers or new hires.

Our goal is to provide workers with the skills to manage their work environment (safe worker) while providing recommendations for practical workstation improvements when needed (safe workplace). Our standardized assessment worksheet and database ensure consistency of data collection and ease of reporting – both for individual assessments and for group metrics. As well, our database allows us to output summarized recommendations for ease of follow-up.

Office Ergonomic Assessments

ErgoRisk can complete an audit of selected workstations in an office to ensure musculoskeletal injury (MSI) risks are minimized. If a specific individual requests a workstation assessment, likely due to discomfort or a recent move, more time may be required to ensure an appropriate assessment of the MSI risks. In either case, all recommendations will be discussed with the worker, emphasizing personal responsibility. A follow-up report will provide detailed individual assessment information including a list of prioritized recommendations. Body Part Discomfort Survey

If you are not sure where to start with your office ergonomics activity, our confidential, on-line discomfort survey may be the best first step.  ErgoRisk has developed a simple, online screening tool to help identify and prioritize musculoskeletal injury symptoms that are lurking in your office – before they become a bigger problem.  Our simple online tool takes less than 5 minutes to complete.  Your worker’s comments are collected and summarized by us to promote accurate reporting.  We also provide a detailed summary report so that prioritized action can be initiated.
